Children smiling in a Stages classroom

About Stages

Locally owned, child focused, and built around families

Stages opened in Strongsville in 2004 and later added the Brunswick center so more local families could find child care with warmth, curriculum, and room to play.

Born from a parent's search for something better

The owners were looking for care for their own children and could not find a center that met their expectations. They wanted more than a babysitting service. They wanted a place that combined the love children need with the love of learning children deserve.

That search became the first Stages Childcare Center in Strongsville, designed to offer strong early learning advantages with a never-ending supply of comforting hugs.

Center design

Spaces made for young children

Child-sized fixtures

Age-appropriate areas include child-sized toilets and vanities, giving children easy access and helping teachers monitor safely.

Indoor movement

An indoor motor skills room keeps children active when weather makes outdoor play difficult.

Outdoor play

Outdoor play areas support large motor development and the everyday joy of climbing, running, and pretending.

Teacher ownership

Teachers are encouraged to take ownership of their classrooms, making each day engaging and personal.

Ratios

Teacher and child ratios

Stages follows Ohio requirements for child care ratios and adapts staffing to the age level in each classroom.

Infants

Infants from 6 weeks to approximately 18 months run at 1:5 or 2:10.

Toddlers

Toddler classrooms operate at 1:7 or 1:8, depending on the age level in the room.

Preschool runs at 1:12 or 2:24. Pre-K runs at 1:14 or 2:28.

School age

The school-age program runs at 1:18 or 2:36.
